What's not included in our Boiler Cover

At Mr Reactive, we strive to be the most transparent boiler and home emergency cover provider. Our highly-rated home plans offer excellent value, ensuring that when you require the services of a qualified tradesman, we will be there to restore your home to full operation. While we are committed to providing comprehensive cover, we believe that it is equally important to outline the limitations of our boiler cover plans before you join us. By doing so, we can maintain a high level of transparency and promote greater customer satisfaction.

Here is a list of the primary items that are not covered under our plans:

Boiler models: Potterton Powermax, Britony, Chaffoteaux, Sime, Servowarm and Elm Le Blanc; or any make or model of back boilers.
Repairing faults caused by limescale or sludge (water contaminated with dirt, rust, or other particles).
Beyond Economical Repair (BER). In the event that your boiler is below seven years old and deemed beyond economical repair (BER), we may determine that a boiler replacement is the best course of action. However, if your boiler is older, we may request that you make a contribution towards the cost of a new boiler.
Repairing pre-existing faults or faults that occur within the first 14 days of cover.
Equipment or systems that have not been installed, used, and maintained in compliance with the manufacturer's instructions, current regulations, or industry best practices.
Tasks that are the responsibility of the user and are outlined in the user guide, such as re-pressurizing your system or bleeding your radiators.

Trace and access The cost of locating the fault (also known as trace and access work) are typically covered by your home insurance policy, so there's no need to pay for it twice. After the problem has been identified and is easily accessible, we will gladly return to repair it.
Systems that operate using sources of energy other than natural gas.
Showers and shower pumps.
Upgrades or improvements to your system.
Accidental damage If a fault is caused by you or someone working on your property, it should be covered by your home insurance policy.
Items or parts that are not considered standard, such as towel rails and underfloor heating, require specialist parts and engineers. For this reason, we recommend that you contact the manufacturer directly for advice.
