We believe in being straight with you. While our cover is comprehensive, here’s exactly what isn’t included — so there are no surprises later.

Specific boiler models: Potterton Powermax, Britony, Chaffoteaux, Sime, Servowarm and Elm Le Blanc, or any back boilers.
Limescale or sludge damage — faults caused by water contaminated with dirt, rust or particles.
Beyond Economical Repair (BER): if your boiler is under 7 years old we may replace it; older boilers may need a contribution towards replacement.
Pre-existing faults or any faults that occur within the first 14 days of cover.
Equipment not maintained per the manufacturer’s instructions, current regulations or industry best practices.
User-responsibility tasks outlined in the user guide, like re-pressurising your system or bleeding radiators.

Trace and access work: the cost of locating a fault is normally covered by your home insurance, not us.
Non-natural-gas systems: systems running on energy other than mains natural gas.
Showers and shower pumps are not included in standard cover.
System upgrades or improvements to existing equipment.
Accidental damage caused by you or someone working on your property — covered by home insurance.
Non-standard parts like towel rails or underfloor heating — contact the manufacturer directly for these.

What’s the difference between Home Cover and Boiler Cover?

Boiler Cover protects your boiler and heating system specifically. Home Cover is broader — it protects your boiler, central heating, plumbing, taps, toilets, gas supply pipes and more. Home Cover gives you wider household protection from a single plan.

Is there an excess fee or call-out charge?

No. Mr Reactive home cover plans have £0 excess and no call-out fee. When you book a repair under your plan, parts and labour are fully included with no surprise charges.

Does the plan include an annual boiler service?

Yes. Every Home Cover plan includes a free annual boiler service carried out by our in-house Gas Safe engineers. This keeps your boiler running efficiently and helps prevent breakdowns.

When does my cover start?

Your cover begins from the start date you choose. There is a 14-day initial exclusion period for pre-existing faults — this is standard across the industry and protects against last-minute sign-ups for known problems.

Are your engineers in-house or subcontractors?

All our Gas Safe engineers are Mr Reactive employees. We do not use subcontractors. The same local team that services your boiler will be the team that responds when you have a breakdown.

Which areas do you cover?

Mr Reactive home cover is available across Bradford (BD1 to BD24), Leeds, Wakefield, Huddersfield, Halifax and the surrounding West Yorkshire towns. We do not cover commercial premises.

How do I make a claim?

Just call our 24/7 UK-based helpline on 01274 752 852 or book through your customer portal. A Gas Safe engineer will be with you the same day in most cases — typically within 45 minutes during the day.

Can I cancel my plan?

Yes. You can cancel by contacting us. The price you sign up at is guaranteed for up to 3 years if you stay on the plan, with no unexpected price hikes during that period.
